Ū chi̍t kang, lí mā ē lâi chhōe góa,
Lí bē pàng bē-kì-tit góa.
Án-ne khó͘-lān kiat-sok,
Án-ne só-liān tn̄g-khui.
Lí iáu-koh chheⁿ-so͘, hn̄g-hn̄g,
Chhin-ài ê sí-bông hiaⁿ-tī
Lí khiā tio̍h ná chi̍t lia̍p léng-chheⁿ
Kòa tī góa ê mâ-hoân téng-koân.
M̄-koh ū chi̍t kang lí ē kiâⁿ óa
Chhiong-móa hóe-iām.
Lâi ah, chhin-ài ê, góa tī chia,
Lia̍h góa, góa sī lí ê.

有一工, 你 mā 會來揣我,
你袂放袂記得我.
Án-ne 苦難結束,
Án-ne 鎖鍊斷開.
你猶 koh 生疏, 遠遠,
親愛 ê 死亡兄弟
你徛著 ná 一粒冷星
掛 tī 我 ê 麻煩頂懸.
M̄-koh 有一工你會行倚
充滿火焰.
來 ah, 親愛 ê, 我 tī 遮,
掠我, 我是你 ê.

18. The Wanderer Speaking to Death
You will come to me too some day,
You will not forget me.
And the torment ends,
And the fetter breaks.
Still, you seem strange and far,
Dear brother death
You stand like a cold star
Above my trouble.
But some day you will be near
And full of flames.
Come, beloved, I am here,
Take me, I am yours.
